WHAT KIND OF DOCUMENTATION WILL I NEED?

Although passports are suggested, you are not required to have a passport for this cruise. YOU MAY TRAVEL WITH EITHER A BIRTH CERTIFICATE OR A PASSPORT. HOWEVER, your birth certificate MUST be the certificate issued by the state where you were born and have the raised seal (NOT the one issued by the hospital where you were born). Any guest without proper documents will not be allowed to board the vessel. For more information on getting a passport, CLICK HERE.

The exact wording that Carnival uses is as follows: U.S. citizens taking “closed-loop” cruises (sailings that both originate and terminate in the same U.S. port) are not required to have a passport, but will need proof of citizenship such as an original or certified copy of a birth certificate, a certificate of naturalization, a passport card, an enhanced driver’s license (EDL) as well as a government-issued photo ID. Children are also required to bring proof of citizenship, and if 16 and over, a photo ID is also required. If a cruise begins and ends in different U.S. ports or begins and ends in a foreign port, a valid passport or other WHTI-compliant document is required. A valid passport is required if you are traveling on any of our Europe cruises. All other non US citizens must have a passport for air, land and sea travel. For more information, please visit us at http://www.carnival.com/CMS/FAQs/New_Passport_Requirement.aspx.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY CRUISE?

Although not required, trip insurance is strongly recommended. Trip insurance can help you recover travel costs if you must cancel your plans due to an emergency. For more information, what is covered, pricing, and to buy a policy, please contact GSN Travel at 877-600-4450. The policy with coverages, is available for viewing HERE.

CARNIVAL CABIN CANCELLATION DEADLINES AND PENALTIES:

Penalty of $250.00 per person will apply if cancelled up to 2/22/19

No Refund offered if cancelled after 2/22/19

Changes can be made up until the Final payment after that a $60.00 charge for 1 change if there is at least 1 passenger remaining in cabin.

WHAT WILL THE CLIMATE BE LIKE IN SPRING?

Early Summer is a perfect time to visit the Eastern Carribean! The weather there is warm and comfortable in the day, but can be cool at night. The temperatures typically vary between a daily high of about 95 degrees and a daily low of approximately 75 degrees.

WHAT TYPES OF SHORE EXCURSIONS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE?

There are many different excursions available from Carnival and other online vendors. In our previous experiences, the excursions available when reaching the port are much less expensive. If you prefer to save money, you can wait until you reach the port and directly pay the vendor. Save money AND help the locals with your dollars instead of being upcharged by several middlemen in the process of online booking. If you want a link ahead, call the GSN office and one will be arranged and posted. There just hasn’t been enough activity in previous events to warrant getting one unless the need is there.

WHAT SHOULD I PACK?

Casual resort attire is in order during the day outside of the GSN program. A jacket for men and a cocktail dress or pant suit for women is suggested on formal night. The dress code for other evenings is resort casual. Shorts and T-Shirts are not permitted in the dining room during dinner. See the “TRAVEL CHECKLIST (What to Wear)” page of the Participant Handbook for what to wear in the individual audition/competitions or see your mother agent.

WHAT IF I JUST WANT TO COME AND WATCH THE EVENT AND COMPETITIONS?

If you are traveling with a participant who is performing in the competition, guest passes are available from the mother agency or the director with whom the talent is working. If you are NOT traveling with a participant that is showcasing their talent, guest passes needed for entry to our private event are $695/person in advance and $795/person if purchased on the ship at registration by credit/debit card or cash ONLY (NO CHECKS). The passes are good for the whole week and to every event open to participant’s as an observer, except Callbacks/Open Interviews with the Agents, Managers, Casting Director, Recording Label Execs and other industry professionals.
